Abatek broadens and enhances its globally unique program of machine placeable keypads with the Capacitive SMT Silicone Keys. This Silicone single key is fully capacitive, measures 6.5 x 6.5 mm and its height can be freely chosen as can all actuation forces from 0.5 to 5.0 N and strokes from 0.8 to 1.8 mm. Due to its capacitive property this key offers the touch/switch double function. Touching or almost touching the key surface activates a secondary function (e.g. lighting up, system wake-up, etc.), while pressing the key activates the desired primary function. Also new is the fact that the Capacitive SMT Silicone Key is, on demand, available with SC contact technology. The capacitive property of this SMD allows for building in the key as machine placeable spring or contact element. The key is Pb-free solderable over 260ºC.
